Google has announced yesterday that it’s going to integrate RCS chat on Google Fi Network. Also, they announced that they are going to improve data speed for the users who travel.

So, if you have a Fi Supported phone you can use RCS to share high-quality pictures and videos, message over Wi-Fi, see the typing status of another one on the wire and get message receipts. You don’t have to do anything to have RCS support if you have a Fi-friendly phone and had set the Google’s official messaging app as your default text messaging app, RCS will be automatically added to your phone.

As noted by The Verge, this RCS will only be supported in some of the phones now including Google Pixel phones, LG V35, and G7, Moto G6 and on Android Moto X. In addition, the RCS service will be supported on limited Carriers including Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile. It is expected that few more carriers will be added in the list in future which will support the RCS.  Meanwhile, it will also work on other Android phones which have Google’s Message app as default messaging app.
