So far as we know, some people just hate a huge notch into their phone, Pixel 3 XL is one of these notched phones. But this notch design problem has been further escalated when some of the Pixel 3 XL users has posted a photo on Twitter showing their Pixel 3 XL. Their posts show a hilarious software glitch of Pixel 3 XL, showing up a second notch on the screen.
This software glitch was recently reported by Android Police, saying that several users have noticed a bug on their Pixel 3 XL which randomly places a side-mounted second notch on its display. But this one is different though from the hardware-based cutout notch at the top of the screen, this one is just a digital notch.
These are the some posts from the twitter by the affected users:

As per the several Reddit and Twitter users who have experienced the software issue, the software glitch causing a virtual notch can be fixed by restarting their handsets or just by going to the developer options. So it is not much of a big problem, some of the users even made fun of it.
This software glitch might have been caused by an orientation bug, or by any display related feature that triggers the digital notch to be displayed on the side of the screen. Either way, this might be fixed as soon as possible. Google has confirmed that they are aware of it and they are now working for its fixed and might be soon fixed by a software update.
