However, Magure brushed off any distractions about the World Cup and his future, insisting his only focus in helping United secure their passage to the fourth round.

“We had a disappointing result against Aston Villa on Sunday so we’ve got to find our form again, find our performance to win the game and go through,” he added.

“It’s nice to start the game and get some minutes under my belt but I work very hard in training day in, day out so I’m always ready, always focused.

“It’s about the team and progressing to the next round and that’s my focus, this is the first trophy we can win this season so we’re here to do that.”
