Has Big Games Given Up On ‘Pet Sim 99?’

I spent a lot, and I mean A LOT of time playing Pet Sim X on Roblox and was excited when Pet Sim 99 came along to replace it. The launch was fantastic and although there was a fair amount of reputation and reusing ideas from Pet Sim X there was still enough new stuff to get stuck into that it hardly mattered.

Along with the new content came a revised update schedule meaning we would get updates every fortnight rather than weekly. I was delighted with this as one of my biggest gripes with Pet Sim X was the lack of quality in the weekly updates. They were full of bugs and many new features wouldn’t work, making some of them a massive letdown.

The updates in Pet Sim 99 since launch started off really well. It felt like they had been tested properly, they introduced new ideas and they just worked. They were even spending time sorting out bugs in the main game. In short, things were looking good. Then Big Games Pets went back to weekly updates and, in my opinion at least, things got worse again.

Check out a recent review from a disappointed player below:

Weekly updates mean more bugs, less inspiring content and nothing new for the players. It does, however, allow Big Games Pets to add new items that can be bought for real money. Sadly, this is where the cynic in me comes out. I would much rather have quality updates and would be more likely to spend real money on items if they weren’t pushing them on me every single week. I understand that as a middle-aged bloke, I’m not really the target audience for the game but I play nonetheless.

I truly want to enjoy playing Pet Sim 99 again and would love it if the developers went back to their core values ie. Making great content to keep players engaged. I know they can do it as it’s been done before. Fingers crossed for increased quality going forward.
