Wildlife photographer and presenter, Hamza Yassin, has divulged how Reverend Richard Coles ended up in the nude while the pair filmed the Channel 4 nature show, Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness.

Rev Richard previously teased his wardrobe malfunction when he promoted the show’s release on Twitter.

Writing in November, he told his 454,000 followers: “Ooh me and Hamza Yassin on the telly tonight.

“I literally got naked in some sand dunes, but they won’t show that bit. I HOPE.”

Now, in a new interview, the show’s frontman Hamza has finally revealed all.

During filming, Hamza and Richard explored Ardnamurchan in the Scottish Highlands, but came into a bit of difficulty when they went snorkelling and had to wear a wetsuit.

Hamza explained: “Richard had never been snorkelling before and it was the first time he wore a wetsuit.

“So, he put it on, and the zip was at the front. He’s trying to zip it up saying, ‘Oh, this is uncomfortable! Everything is wrong!’

“When we came round the corner, we told him the wetsuit was back to front and we had to try and get this wetsuit off him.”

The More 4 series saw Hamza, who is best known as a presenter and cameraman on Countryfile, Springwatch and Animal Park, take four celebrities on an exploration of Scotland.

The celebs were taken out of their comfort zone and each forced to strip away their finery as they braved the elements and got up close and personal to nature.

As well as Rev Richard, other stars taking part were Death in Paradise actor Ben Miller, Martin Clunes and politician Sayeeda Warsi.

The heartwarming show was a hit with viewers with many praising Hamza for the relationships he had built with the celebrities during their trip.

One fan, Julie, wrote on Twitter: “Hope there will be another series Hamza, have loved the wildlife most of all, but it has been lovely to see the relationships you form with the guests in those few days.”

John echoed: “You always ask thoughtful questions. Love the relationships you strike up with your guests.”

And Cathy added: “What an absolutely lovely programme! Your chats with your guests are so insightful and you really bring out the best in people. Hopefully looking forward to another series.”

All episodes of Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness are available to watch on 4od.
