Huawei P20 Pro, P20 Lite with FullView Displays Launched in India
Huawei has today launched its latest flagship smartphone the Huawei P20 Pro along with the mid-range Huawei P20 Lite for the Indian market but the company didn’t bring the regular Huawei P20 in India. To recall, Huawei P20 Pro, P20 Lite, and P20 smartphones were originally showcased globally in March 2018.
Pricing and Availablity
The Huawei P20 comes with the price tag of Rs. 64,999 while the midrange Huawei P20 Lite comes with the price tag of Rs. 19,999. Both the smartphones will be available to purchase exclusively via Amazon India starting from 3rd may. Launch offers will reveal on the same day. The Huawei P20 Pro comes in Black, Twilight, Pink Gold and Midnight Blue color options while the Huawei P20 Lite will come in Black, Blue, and Rose Gold color options.
Huawei P20 Pro
The Huawei P20 Pro runs on EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. It sports a 6.1”full-HD+ (1080×2240 pixels) FullView OLED 2.5D curved glass display with 1:1,000,000 contrast ratio and 105 percent colour gamut. The smartphone is powered by up to 2.36GHz Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 octa-core processor coupled with an i7 dedicated NPU and Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. It offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Talking about its main highlight, the Huawei P20 comes equipped with Leica triple rear camera setup with a combination of an 8MP (VARIO-SUMMILUX-H 1:1.6-2.4/27-80ASPH) Leica telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, f/2.4 aperture and a second 40MP RGB 1/1.7-inch sensor with an f/1.8 aperture along with the third 20MP monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture. There is also a laser transmitter and receiver for quicker autofocus, a Leica colour temperature sensor and a dual tone LED flash. The combination of triple rear cameras offers light sensitivity up to ISO 102400, 3x optical zoom, 5x lossless hybrid zoom, and 10x digital zoom. It also has 4D Predictive Focus that can provide instant focus with motion prediction and can achieve ‘zero shutter lag’. The smartphone supports 6-axis stabilization and 960fps super slow motion video recording. On the front, it has a 24MP Sony IMX576 sensor with f/2.0 aperture along with 3D portrait lighting effects. The front camera also comes equipped with 360-degree facial recognition technology that can unlock the device as little as 0.6 seconds.
The Huawei P20 Pro is fueled by a 4000mAh battery with Huawei’s SuperCharge fast charging technology; it can recharge 58 percent of battery in just 30 minutes. The battery is rated to deliver up to 89 hours of music playback, 22hrs of Video playback, 22hrs of internet browsing, and 25hrs of 3G calling. P20 Pro also has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. It also has a home button that supports ‘edgeless fingerprint’. There is also gesture support on the home button, such as short tap for the back, long tap for home, and swiping left or right for multi-tasking. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port. It measures 155 x 73.9 x 7.8 mm and weighs 180 grams.
Huawei P20 Lite
The Huawei P20 Lite runs on EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system and sports a 5.84” full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) FullView 19:9 display with 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone is powered by up to 2.36GHz HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core processor coupled with MaliT830-MP2 GPU. It offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
For photography, the Huawei P20 Lite comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 16MP primary and 2MP secondary sensors for portrait shots. On the front, it has a 24MP selfie shooter with face beauty technology. Similar to P20 Pro, it also comes with facial recognition technology to unlock the device.
The Huawei P20 Lite is fueled by a 3000mAh battery with fast charging support. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS / GLONASS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port. It measures 148.6×71.2×7.4 mm and weighs 145 grams.
