After having made her debut in showbiz with the musical video ‘Chui mui si tum’, Preeti Jhangiani went onto do films in Bollywood as well as regional languages. Mid-Day Online caught up with her for an exclusive interview on the auspicious occasion of ‘Navratri 2022’.
Preeti, what unique things are seeing during Navratri 2022 ?
The excitement this year is on an all-time high. Its majorly because, everyone is celebrating this festival after a long time because of the lockdown. This only means it definitely calls for a bigger celebration, which is what I find unique during this year’s Navratri.
Are you more of a `dandiya` person or `garba`?
I can’t do either very well! But I do like to play dandiya ever since I was a little girl.
Have you ever got hurt while playing dandiya?
To tell you the truth, I have got hurt many, many times! But luckily… no fractures.

Have you learnt dandiya / garba from someone? Or you learnt it seeing others?
I just watched others and learnt it.
Which is your all-time favorite dandiya song from Bollywood?
It has to be ‘Dhol baaje’.
Do you fast during the nine days?
No. I don’t believe in fasting of any kind, unless its for health reasons.
Do you follow navratri ke nau colour/ navratri colours code for all the nine days?
No, I’m not that traditional!
What’s your take on accessories? Are you a minimal person or you prefer a ‘quintessential’ Navratri make up?
Navratri is a lot about the jewellery and I love big pieces jewellery and accessories.
