After almost 20 years of long journey, Yahoo Messenger which was the sweetheart of group chat lovers was finally shut on July 17, 2018, and remaining loyal users who are still using the messenger have been offered with the new Squirrel App by the messenger.
For those who have to say goodbye to their messenger which has been the best companion for years Yahoo has Squirrel App which has been introduced which invites only at present while the users could download history chat within next four months which means November this year.
The Yahoo Squirrel chat app is available at Play Store and App store for Android and iOS users.
To make presence among the competitors Yahoo Squirrel has tried to provide features which might attract and bind the users like creating secret rooms for personal chats and turning off notifications and others.
Yahoo Messenger which was among the first messenger services Rediff, Orkut, and Hotmail, was the first to introduce instant messaging services to the world of internet users. Started in the year 1998 it was the first messenger service which could share instant messages and unique feature of the era send images and made it an instant hit as the real-time traders embraced the latest communication tool.
The messenger’s shine faded away with the arrival of better messengers and gradually it lost the race as most of the user opted to go with the other messengers.
The pace to keep with the messengers who made the messaging on the desktop and mobile phones available for the users made Yahoo Messenger redundant gradually and finally with the generation of immensely paced social media messaging service providers it met its fate.
The messenger service provider on the day of closure said that the messenger has been shut to offer something new and better in place of Yahoo messenger.
