A waitress gets hundreds of dollars worth of tips thanks to her clever techniques. The server explained changing her hairstyle, make-up and perfume makes her much more money on shift. She claims lip-plumping gloss and a particular scent mean people give her higher tips.
Chelsea is a waitress from Texas who has learned some savvy tricks from social media in order to increase her tips. In one video, Chelsea excitedly showed off the $200 in tips she had made that night.
She captioned the video: “POV: You’re a server and you used TikTok tips to make more money.”
A popular trend on TikTok for young women working in restaurants to share advice on what they believe is the best way for servers to receive bigger tips. In some videos, the women suggest wearing their hair in pigtails while in other trending videos, women have said wearing their hair in space buns has gotten them more money.
Space buns are a popular hairstyle among Gen Z which is two buns are styled on the top of the head. In her video caption, Chelsea wrote that “the space buns worked” in getting her a bigger tip.

In her video, Chelsea showed herself making some last minutes adjustments before beginning her waitressing shift. She put on a plumping lip gloss as well as spritzed some perfume on herself to see if it would help her get more money for her shift.
In the comment section of her video, Chelsea told fans she wears the perfume Very Good Girl by Carolina Herrera to work. The fragrance smells of a mixture of vanilla and berries and is around $119 (£98).
It seems to have worked, as at the end of the video, Chelsea showed the money she had made, and wrote in the video: “$207 for just the night shift.”
In other videos, Chelsea filmed herself on other night shifts in which she received $309 in tips which she said was “not bad”. However, she revealed her coworker has received a $500 tip that night.
In the video, she looked disheartened and said: “Not bad, but why don’t I get tipped like that?”
People have complimented Chelsea on her ability to make so much in tips. One person wrote: “Being absolutely gorgeous probably helps too” to which Chelsea replied: “You’re so sweet, Thank you gorgeous!”
Chelsea has stayed humble despite the compliments and said her beauty comes from “make-up”.
However, other people have also complemented the waitresses’ looks and someone compared her to Drew Barrymore to which Chelsea replied: “No way!”
One fellow waitress had her own trick for working her restaurant shift. The commentator said: “My go-tos are pheromone perfume oil and bomb lip plumper” to which Chelsea replied: “I’m ordering the pheromone oil!”
