Instagram is one of the most popular photo-sharing platforms by Facebook. But with the increasing popularity, spamming and inappropriate contents on Instagram also increases tremendously. And now, the company is working harder to restrict surfacing inappropriate contents on Instagram.

In the same agenda, Facebook Facebook today has kicked off a new Campaign called ‘Reduce, reform, inform’, under which Fwill try to manage problematic contents. The main aim of the company is to remove contents that violate the company’s policies and in this way, the company will reduce surfacing misleading and inappropriate contents on Instagram and on Messenger.

Specifically for Instagram, Facebook said they are “working to ensure that the content [recommended] to people is both safe and appropriate for the community.” And following their way, Instagram has updated its Community Guidelines to show these changes. In their updated guidelines, they said Instagram will not limit the exposer of posts which they find appropriate and violating the guidelines and will not recommend them in the Explore or hashtag pages.

However, they didn’t clarify their word “inappropriate”, but according to the TechCrunch, the word inappropriate defines anything that is “violent, graphic/shocking, sexually suggestive, misinformation and spam content’”. So, from now, be aware to check your post before sending to make it live longer on Instagram.
