iOS 13 code shows how Apple’s Tile-like location-tracking tag will work

A recent iOS 13 code reveals new details of the upcoming Tile-like item tracker from Apple. Just after the announcement of the Find My app at WWDC, rumors of this feature coming to the iOS 13 have been at its high peak. Now, MacRumors gives us a better idea of how this feature will work and look on iOS 13.

An analysis of the iOS 13 code revealed an image of “a small circular tag with an Apple logo in the center.” In addition, there’s a new “Items” tab in the Find My app, most probably for tracking things with the tags.

According to MacRumors, there will be a system that will notify you if you’re separated from your tagged item. Thereafter, you can use the app to make the tag create a sound. This is similar to the way Tile and other third-party item trackers currently work. This is a great feature from Apple for the iPhone users to let them find their missing items.

The first references for the rumored tag were reported by 9to5Mac back in June when it was spotted in the first beta of iOS 13. But at that time, there was no idea of how this system work and what software it will use. However, based on the new leaks, it looks even more likely that Apple will be offering its own item tracking system alongside its new software.

As of now, there is no information when this feature will arrive with on iOS 13. Will it launch along with the iPhone 11 on 10 September 2019? Let’s wait for it a bit more to get it revealed completely.
