Over the last six decades, there have been 25 official James Bond movies starring Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. Over their adventures on Her Majesty’s Secret Service, the different incarnations of 007 have seduced countless beautiful Bond girls, fought the most dastardly villains and have had each mission introduced by iconic theme songs. Showcase Cinemas have polled 2000 Brits to give the definitive answers on the very best of Bond and here are the results.
What’s clear overall is that Britain loves the movie Goldfinger with candidates from the 1964 classic topping every single poll.
Sean Connery has been voted Britain’s favourite Bond with 36 percent of the vote, which shouldn’t be too surprising given he’s the original, while Roger Moore came second on 18 percent and Daniel Craig followed on 13. The UK’s sexiest Bond girl was Honor Blackman’s Pussy Galore on 30 percent, who beat Dr No’s Honey Ryder on 15.
Dame Shirley Bassey’s Goldfinger was voted best Bond theme, topping Paul McCartney’s and Wings’ Live and Let Die with 27 percent of the vote to 20 percent. And Oddjob beat Auric Goldfinger himself with 24 percent to 22. Here are the full poll results:
