Here’s a look at the commemorative “Forever” Stamp that the United States Postal Service is issuing for late Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek.

The United States Postal Service will be honoring one of TV’s most beloved game show hosts, the late Alex Trebek, who hosted Jeopardy for 37 years from 1984 until his passing in November 2020 from pancreatic cancer at the age of 80. His final show aired on January 8th, 2021. The series’ current host, Ken Jennings, announced on the June 21st episode of the Sony game show, which coincides with Jeopardy!’s 60th Diamond Celebration, commemorating its original premiere in 1964 on NBC. The series had a couple of runs on the network from 1964-1975, and 1978-1979, and the syndicated versions started with the 1974-1975 weekly, and currently, the daily version that premiered on September 1984 has been running ever since. The game show’s success has spawned several spin-offs tweaking the theme – including Jep!, which focused on younger contestants; Sports Jeopardy!, and Rock N’ Roll Jeopardy!, which are genre-focused.

USPS Jeopardy! Alex Trebek Forever Stamp Details

The USPS will issue a Forever Stamp to honor Trebek and the format keeps with the theme of the show featuring the Canadian-American’s likeness on the side of the sheet with only enough space for the clue, “This naturalized U.S. citizen hosted the quiz show Jeopardy! for 37 seasons.” The answer “Who is Alex Trebek?” is revealed when the stamp is turned upside down. The grid will consist of 20 identical stamps resembling the array of video monitors from the game show’s board.
