Johnny Depp took the witness stand again in the infamous libel suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The six-week trial has been full of twists and turns as Amber Heard and Johnny Depp struggle to prove who was in the right.

While on the stand, Johnny describes his experience listening to Amber Heard’s testimony during the trial. “It’s insane to hear heinous accusations of violence — sexual violence — that she’s attributed to me. Horrible, ridiculous, humiliating, ludicrous, painful, savage, unimaginably brutal, cruel, and all false.”

“No human being is perfect,” Depp continued. “But I have never in my life committed sexual battery, physical abuse, all these outlandish, outrageous stories of me committing these things. And living with it for six years. And waiting to be able to bring the truth out. So this is not easy for any of us. I know that. But no matter what happens, I did get here, and I did tell the truth. And I have spoken up for what I’ve been carrying on my back reluctantly for six years.”

Earlier in the trial, Amber Heard took the witness stand to testify that Depp had perpetrated drug and alcohol-fuelled acts of physical abuse on multiple occasions. Amber also alleged that their rocky relationship included a multiday assault in Australia during which she was also sexually assaulted by Johnny Depp with a bottle. She mentioned, “At some point, he had a broken bottle against my face/neck area, by my jawline, and he told me he’d carve up my face.”

The closing arguments on the case are supposed to take place on May 27.
