New Zealand’s batsman Kane Williamson today scored 28th century in the second Test match against Sri Lanka at the Basin Reserve Cricket Ground in Wellington. With this, he has equaled the record of 28 centuries by Indian star batsman Virat Kohli. Apart from 28th century, Williamson also completed 8,000 Test runs in his 94th Test. After completing his century, he went to hit the double century in a mammoth partnership of 363 with Henry Nicholls, who also slammed double tonne.

India’s batting maestro, Virat Kohli completed his 28th Test ton in the fourth and final match of the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

However, both the batsman are still below the other two star batsman of the ‘fab four’ of the modern-day cricket. The term ‘fab four’ is used for Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith, and Joe Root. These four star batsman are considered as the greatest batters in cricket today.

Australian batsman Steve Smith has scored 30 centuries, while English batter Joe Root has 29 Test centuries. They are followed by Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson with 28 Test Tons.

He was also the key player behind the thrilling last-ball victory against Sri Lanka recently.

Williamson left New Zealand’s captaincy recently to concentrate more on his batting. At the time of writing Kane Williamson is heading towards a double ton as he is batting on 189 runs not out.
