By now, we all know that song from Stranger Things 4 and the moment it will represent from this point forward. Kate Bush‘s 1985 hit “Running Up That Hill” was the song that inspired Max’s (Sadie Sink) escape from the Vecna and the Upside Down. You know, the scene that had us all sobbing? As the song continues to see a major burst in streaming numbers around the world, Bush took some time to express her gratitude for all of the renewed attention the song’s receiving online.

Here’s a screencap from Bush’s website followed by the text of Bush’s reaction:

You might’ve heard that the first part of the fantastic, gripping new series of ‘Stranger Things’ has recently been released on Netflix. It features the song, ‘Running Up That Hill’ which is being given a whole new lease of life by the young fans who love the show – I love it too! Because of this, Running Up That Hill is charting around the world and has entered the UK chart at No. 8. It’s all really exciting! Thanks very much to everyone who has supported the song.

I wait with bated breath for the rest of the series in July.

Best wishes,

Kate

Now here’s a look at that tweet from the show’s writers room confirming just how big of a season finale is in store when Volume 2 premieres this July 4th weekend:

And here’s a nostalgic look back at the first volume of Stranger Things 4 (currently streaming… like you needed to be told):

Netflix’s Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Brett Gelman (Murray), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), and Matthew Modine (Dr. Brenner). Now without further delay, we return you to your continued repeated viewings of the official trailer for the fourth season:

It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time — and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
