Kirstie Allsopp told fans that her sister had been on The Mall since 3am ahead of the Queen’s funeral today. The presenter went on to tweet that saying a final farewell to the late monarch will be “extraordinary day”, adding: “I know some people couldn’t give a monkeys, but so, so many people are mourning the loss of The Queen, and I believe this period of mourning, and State Funeral, mean so much.”
In response to her tweet, a Twitter user named Empfindlich questioned mourning the loss of somebody they didn’t personally know.
They commented: “How is it possible to mourn someone you never knew, didn’t know you, you only ever saw through the prism of state propaganda and was, in any case, 96 years old?
“This is all feeling a little too North Korean for my liking.”
Kirstie, 51, replied: “The first question I can understand, the second is beyond me, you don’t mourn someone because they are old?!”

Angela Wood went on to say that it wasn’t that people didn’t “give a monkeys”, but that everyone had different views.
Disagreeing, the Channel 4 star said: “I don’t think that’s true. I have many friends, and family who do not feel as I do.
“I have no trouble understanding that, never have had and don’t know anyone else who does have.”
Tricia Tennent chimed in telling Kirstie that those not mourning are not bad people.
This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby received backlash after they were seen being escorted past the queue.
Social media users claimed they had skipped the queue and received special treatment which prompted ITV to set the record straight.
In a statement on This Morning’s Instagram page, they wrote: “This Morning had press accreditation and like other media, Phillip and Holly were escorted to work from the press gallery by government staff.
“They did not file past The Queen’s coffin. They were there alongside a host of other broadcasters and national press outlets for an item that will be broadcast on Tuesday’s show.
“Any allegations of improper behaviour are categorically untrue.”
In a swipe at the pair, Kirstie commented: “No one is forcing anyone to pay their respects to The Queen, but if you are going to do it queue.”
Following the news that David had queued with other mourners, she added: “This with bells on.
“Good on David for queuing, and shame on those who think they are too important to queue.”
