Phool aur Kaante director Kuku Kohli recently opened up in an interview about his extra-marital affair with veteran Bollywood actress Aruna Irani. The duo later tied the knot in 1990. He also got candid about how accepting his family were towards Irani.
In a recent interaction with ETimes, Aruna Irani revealed the details of her marriage with the director and falling in love with him on the sets of a film. She also shared that she was not aware that the filmmaker was married when they initially got together. As his first wife passed away a few months ago, Irani decided to make a public comment about their relationship.
Speaking to ETimes, Kuku commented on the same saying, “Dekho, ye saari cheezen to hoti rehti hain hamare industry mein. We work together, exchange ideas.” He also added that they were in a live-in relationship initially. When questioned if his daughters have been accepting towards him, he said, “Aisa kabhi mauka hi nahi aaya.”
The director was also questioned if it was easy for him to manage two homes simultaneously. He added, “It is neither easy nor difficult; it depends how you manage.”
Aruna Irani also opened up about her relationship with the filmmaker. She said,
“He even didn’t tell me that he was married when we met and that’s how I fell in love with him. So it didn’t look good to speak about our relationship as he was married already with a wife and daughters. Now I am talking about it because his first wife passed away a few months back.”
On the work front, Kuku Kohli has taken a break from Bollywood. Aruna Irani has been a part of the industry for over six decades, and is also a popular name in the television industry.
