Along with LG V40 ThinQ, LG has also launched their new smartwatch dubbed as LG Watch W7, Hybrid smartwatch. It is the company’s first hybrid smartwatch. The South Korean manufacturer stated the highlight of this new smartwatch, “it combines mechanical movement with digital functionalities” they said.
LG Watch W7 has a circular LCD with a pair of mechanical hands. It features quartz movement and physical watch hands in its stainless steel body. It has been developed in partnership with Soprod SA of Switzerland. It can be customized in different ways with different watch faces and complications available as it runs the Wear OS from Google.
The LG Watch W7 smartwatch is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor and even complimented by Google’s Wear OS as mentioned above. It has a 1.2” LCD (360×360 pixels) display with 300 pixels per inch PPI. Its dimensions are just right about its size as it measures 44.5×45.4×12.9mm and weighs 79.5 grams.
Its storage comes with 768MB of LPDDR3 RAM and 4GB of eMMC storage and has 240mAh battery that is for long-lasting use. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 BLE. and USB Type-C 2.0 port, and it also has 9-axis sensor and pressure sensor adding up some functionality.
LG Watch W7 is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, which means that it can caught up with your daily activities without worries. LG claims that their smartwatch can run for up to two days and beyond for up to 3-4 days in analogue-only mode.
In its mechanical watch-only mode wherein the smart features were disabled, it can run up to 100 days, or even more than three months. Another cool feature is its analogue hands displaying details such as altimeter, barometer, stopwatch, timer, and compass directions.
The LG Watch W7 is available in Cloud Silver colour and is compatible with all standard 22mm watch bands. Its price is about $449.99 (about Rs. 33,200) in the US market and will be available via Best Buy. Its release date is on October 14, but pre-orders will begin on October 7.
