While many took to the comments section to share their thoughts on whether they agreed with him or not, among them was Martin, who admitted he was “envious” over Piers’ “thick skin”.
“I think you have enviably thick skin, which is an advantage in your role as an adversarial interviewer – it allows you to push hard,” he explained.
“Thankfully my journalism doesn’t always require skin as thick, I struggle to cope with abuse.”
He added: “Not sure how you do it to be honest.”
Piers Morgan, 55, has long been considered like Marmite – you either love him or you hate him – and he’s completely fine with both. Following Wednesday morning’s Good Morning Britain show where he and Susanna Reid grilled Health Secretary Matt Hancock over the latest uproar about free school meals, Martin Lewis commended him for his honesty over being popular with the public and admitted he “struggles with abuse”.
