How Research Works
When you interact with the bench in the Forge, you get the opportunity to work with Doctor Strange and Tony Stark. These two brilliant minds will guide you into the Research menu and carry on research projects that will grant you powerful rewards like room upgrades, combat items, outfits, and more. Research projects take one day to complete, so you can check them and benefit from their effect after a night of sleep.
You will unlock the Research menu after bringing the first Artifact to Doctor Strange, which happens quite early in the main storyline. As you progress in the game and take more Artifacts to be studied at the Forge, you will unlock more powerful research projects.
How to Raise Your Research Level in Midnight Suns
To raise your Research Level in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, you need to find more and more Artifacts and study them at the Forge. You will also get additional rewards, which will be helpful when upgrading an ability. But how do you get new Artifacts?
You can obtain new Artifacts from missions, so all you need to do is head to the Mirror Table and start the quests that list this precious item in their rewards. They can be either story missions or secondary quests, so it is entirely up to you to take up the latter, especially as you proceed with the game. Remember that research projects will grant you great additional rewards that can be used in combat, so the quicker you get them, the easier your life in Midnight Suns will be.
Missions that list an Artifact in their rewards are usually more challenging to complete, as they require you and your team to stop a helicopter from flying within a limited number of turns or to recover the item from a truck by using a special card. Then, you are asked to clear the area and defeat all the enemies. You will also fight against armored guards, and they usually take more turns to be eliminated. In other words, this is no easy task, but the rewards are worth the hassle.
Once you complete the mission and get the Artifact in return, you can study it at the Forge to increase your Research Level. It won’t go up every time you obtain a new Artifact, but this will contribute to the levels’ progression.
