Brian Cox, 76, repeated his call to abolish the monarchy in a new interview as the actor claimed Meghan Markle had “ambitions” to join the family. The Succession star claimed the Duchess “knew what she was getting into” when she married Prince Harry.
Brian alleged Meghan may have had childhood dreams to marry Prince Charming as he suggested the UK should not have a monarchy.
He reiterated that the traditional entity is “not viable” and “doesn’t make any sense”.
“You can’t go into a system where somebody’s already been trained to behave in a certain kind of way and then just expect them to cut themselves off,” he told Haute Living New York.
“I mean, she knew what she was getting into.”

The Emmy-award winner also claimed that Meghan “clearly” had an “ambition” when she married Harry.
“The childhood dreams of marrying Prince Charming and all that s**t we see as fantasy that could be our lives in our dreams,” he argued, calling himself a “Cinderella person.”
The Succession star urged royalists to “move on” from the established system.
“In my opinion, we shouldn’t have a monarchy. It’s not viable; it doesn’t make any sense,” he commented.
He said that although royalists would say the system is a “tradition,” his thoughts are “f**k it, move on.”
Meghan has previously admitted she knew very little about the royals before meeting Harry.
In the couple’s engagement interview with Mishal Husain, they opened up about their relationship.
“I’m from the States, you don’t grow up with the same understanding of the Royal Family and so while I now understand very clearly, there’s a global interest there,” Meghan said.
In her interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, Meghan said she had not researched Harry before she met.
The Duchess went on to claim that she’d not been well prepared by palace staff either, saying she had been left to find the words to the British national anthem alone.
“I never looked up my husband online,” Meghan claimed. “I just didn’t feel the need to, because everything that I needed to know, he was sharing with me – or everything we thought I needed to know, he was telling me.”
