Microsoft to Bring Call of Duty and PC titles to Boosteroid Cloud Gaming Platform; More 3rd-Party Deals Coming Soon
Nowadays, all we hear about Microsoft is related to the company’s attempts to successfully acquire Activision Blizzard. In order to bolster its case, the company has been providing other platforms with deals to bring Activision Blizzard titles to their platforms. And its latest agreement sees these games joining cloud gaming platform, Boosteroid.
Microsoft’s latest partnership with Boosteroid will bring Xbox and PC games to the platform for the next 10 years. Boosteroid is a Ukraine-based software development team which has over four million global users, making it the largest independent cloud gaming provider in the world.

Through the new deal, Boosteroid users will be able to stream Activision Blizzard PC titles, which includes franchises like Call of Duty. Through the recent partnerships Microsoft has announced, Call of Duty will soon cross the 150 million player mark. Along with the popular Activision Blizzard titles, Boosteroid users will also have access to other Xbox and Windows PC titles as well.
Boosteroid kicked off in 2017 when it operated out of Kyiv and Kharkiv in Ukraine. Due to the war, the company’s Kharkiv offices were damaged. Regardless, the company was still able to grow despite the obstacles, as it brought cloud gaming platform to Macs, Chromebooks, Android set-top boxes and LG Smart TVs.
It also has browser-based applications for different operating systems such as Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android and Android TV. Apart from Ukraine, Boosteroid is a service that is readily available in the United States, United Kingdom and other countries across the European Union.

Bringing Xbox PC games to Boosteroid members, including Activision Blizzard titles such as ‘Call of Duty’ once the deal closes, is yet another step in realizing that vision.”

More Call of Duty Third Party Deals to Come
Boosteroid, NVIDIA and Nintendo are the three new platforms that have agreed to have 10-year deals with Microsoft in order to bring Call of Duty to their devices.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Microsoft President Brad Smith has stated that more deals will be coming up in the near future. He added that the argument against the company’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard is that Call of Duty will be withheld from other platforms. However, if Microsoft actively provides Call of Duty titles across various devices and platforms, then it might become a “pretty hard case” to make against the acquisition court.
