Hello and welcome to Express Sport‘s live coverage of the Monaco Grand Prix as F1’s showpiece event returns for 2022.
Charles Leclerc will start today’s 78-lap race from pole position ahead of Carlos Sainz in a Ferrari one-two, with the Red Bull duo of Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen lining up in third and fourth respectively.
It seems as though Mercedes could be set to struggle over the course of the contest once again due to their bouncing on the straights, with George Russell set to start from sixth, two places ahead of Lewis Hamilton in eighth.
However, there is every chance that a safety car will shake up the order in Monte-Carlo, with rain not yet out of the question.
Who will take the chequered flag at the end of this year’s Monaco Grand Prix? We’re on hand to keep you updated throughout the day’s running, which is set to get underway at 2pm.
