Montblanc Launches Summit 2: The First Snapdragon Wear 3100 Smartwatch

Montblanc has launched its latest smartwatch dubbed as Montblanc Summit 2 as the successor of its last year’s model. The main highlight of the smartwatch is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC, that was revealed last month, was built specifically to offer long battery life. It is the first smartwatch to be powered by the Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC.

The company said that the Summit 2 was built to give a vintage look with the feel of a mechanical watch. Even though it runs a Google’s Wear OS, it can also be connected to an Android smartphone or an iPhone. With the latest chip running into it, the Summit 2 can last up to one week when the “time-only” mode is activated, and it can have a full day battery life when used in normal mode.

The new smartwatch runs on Wear OS and features a 1.2-inch AMOLED display. As mentioned above, the smartwatch is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC. It offers 1GB of ram and  8GB of storage. It comes with a variety of different shades, including black, stainless steel, and titanium.

Its 1.2-inch AMOLED display is protected by sapphire crystal, and its body is wrapped by a new stainless steel casing including a large rotating crown on the right side. The two extra buttons above and below can be set to launch specific applications. The rear design has a combination of steel, glass, and resin which encompasses a heart rate monitor and magnetic charging connectors.

Summit 2 can also function as fitness tracker as it has a microphone that you can use to talk to the Google Assistant on board, it supports NFC payments via Google. It is also a watch that supports typical travellers as it has a special “Timeshifter” app, this will give you an advice on how to minimize jet lag based on your flight plan and sleeping habits. There is also a “Travel Info” app that can provide local tourists with useful information about a certain city or place.

Summit 2 is available for different options, from stainless steel, black stainless steel, or titanium. There is also a plenty of strap options such as leather or nylon bands. Montblanc offers the smartwatch for about $995, and the Titanium sports edition will be $1,095. Stay tuned with TechnoCodex for more updates.
