Moon Knight Episode 3 Has a Falcon and the Winter Soldier Reference That Could Have Endless Implications

Compared to other Disney+ Marvel shows, Moon Knight has been kept away from the events of all other MCU events, as the show didn’t reference anything in the first two episodes.

However, in Episode 3 titled “The Friendly Type,” the show finally dropped the name of a place that Marvel fans might remember, when the city of Madripoor, which we last saw in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Disney+ show was referenced.

In Moon Knight, the show talked about some events that took place between Layla and Anton Mogart in Madripoor, and as of right now, we don’t know much about the business the two had in the fictional city. However, it’s very likely that the two might have been involved in some kind of shady antiquities deal that took place in Madripoor.

With Layla’s presence in Madripooor, there’s a very good chance that she might have met the Power Broker aka Sharon Carter. The former S.H.I.E.L.D agent was revealed to be the big don of Madripoor in the finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, when the origin of the Flag Smashers was revealed.

Layla’s potential connection to the Power Broker and Madripoor opens a lot of doors for fans to glimpse at Moon Knight’s past and future. The city has been known for its connections to many X-Men and mutants such as Wolverine, and with the iconic supergroup set to debut in the MCU soon, it’s very likely that Marc Spector and Steven Grant might bump into one of them.

In the end, it seems like Madripoor seems to be the main focus for the MCU, after locations like Sokovia and Wakanda received the spotlight in previous phases of the MCU. With Madripoor taking center stage, things could look very different in the near future, and fans can’t wait to learn more about the place’s connections to their favorite characters.
