On Thursday, Lenovo launched the Moto Z2 Play, the successor of Moto Z play in India at Rs. 27, 999. Pre-booking of the phone starts from Thursday itself to 14 June via company’s official website and Flipkart. While the availablity of the phone starts from 15 June via both online and offline channel.
Company is also offering various offers for the customers pre-book the phone-
- Hello finance – Rs. 2,000 to be paid for pre-booking and remaining amout could be paid in 10 interest free EMIs at no processong fee.
- Hello mods – offer is applicable on selected moto mods, Although it is not clear which mods will be made available in India, whatever is available customer can buy at a discounted price.
- Hello armor – customer will get protective accessories including an aluminium case, back shell, selfie-stick, and protective film.
- Company has also annouced a 100GB additional Reliance Jio 4G data offer for Jio users, this offer is applicable for both pre-booking and regular customers.
Moto Z2 Play specifications
The Moto Z2 Play runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and bears a 5.5” full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) 401ppi Super AMOLED display with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor and offers 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card, the smartphone has a dedicated SD card slot, separate from the SIM cards
Talking about camera, the Moto Z2 Play sports a 12MP rear camera with a 1.4-micron pixel sensor, f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, laser auto-focus, and dual-tone dual-LED flash,and a colour correlated temperature (CCT). On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture, wide-angle lens, and a dual-LED CCT flash.
The smartphone packs a 3000mAh battery withTurboPower charger which provides 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes, and the battery is rated to deliver up to 30 hours of mixed usage. While its predecessor Moto Z Play has a 3510mAh battery, but Lenovo claims the new, more efficient chipset will compensate for the loss. Connectivity options on the Moto Z2 Play include dual-SIM cards support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/b/n (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C (3.1), a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, FM radio, and GPS/ A-GPS. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. It weighs 145 grams, and measures 156.2×76.2×5.99mm.
Similar to the Moto Z Play, the successor is also compatible with a range of Moto Mods. However, these Mods are available as an optional purchase and thus cost an additional amount. The compatible mods for the Moto Z2 Play include the Hasselblad True Zoom mod, JBL SoundBoost mod, Insta-Share Projector mod, and the Incipio offgrid Power pack Mod. These mods start at Rs 899 and go up to Rs 15,999. You can avail the pre-booking offers to buy these mods at a discount. The company also introduced two new Mods at the event. These include the JBL SoundBoost 2 and the Moto Gamepad. Pricing and availability details of the new mods is yet to be officially announced.
