People can also report any scam texts they receive by forwarding them to 7726. Passing on the messages allows authorities to get a sense of what ploys scammers are using.
Those who have been victims of a scam can report it to Action Fraud, a national reporting agency, on the group’s website or over the phone.
NatWest also recently issued a warning about purchase scams, particularly around Black Friday, when criminals will try to sell goods that don’t exist or are not as advertised.
