New Paper-Based Capsules, New Sustainable Choices

Committed to bringing customers the ultimate coffee experience for more than 35 years, Nespresso’s new home compostable paper-based capsules offer coffee lovers another way to make sustainable choices whilst still enjoying the same incredible tasting coffee.

The new range is compatible with the Nespresso Original machines. Customers in France and Switzerland – where the Paper Collection is being piloted – can purchase them by visiting their Nespresso boutiques or through their local website. Nespresso hopes to expand the launch to other countries in the coming years.

Melanie Brinbaum, Chief Brand Officer for Nespresso said: “We are continuing to push boundaries with the launch of our paper-based home compostable capsule collection. This moment needed to be marked with the support of our Nespresso friends George Clooney, Jean Dujardin, Camille Cottin. This innovation is the first step in our journey to compostable, as we continue to offer sustainable choices to our customers, and this TV commercial demonstrates just that. Our Paper Collection is a new sustainable choice for coffee lovers, without compromising on the coffee quality that our customers expect from us.”

Ensuring the coffee experience is uncompromised, the Paper Collection includes a biopolymer lining inside the capsule, protecting the coffee against oxidization and preserving its aromas and taste. The Paper Collection is the first step in Nespresso’s journey to offer customers who prefer and have access to compost an alternative way to enjoy their daily coffee.

Certified For Home And Industrial Composting

The Paper Collection will widen the sustainable choices already offered to Nespresso consumers. The product is certified for composting, both home and industrial, by TÜV Austria, an international certification body. In France where Nespresso is piloting this range, these capsules are accepted in the public biowaste bin.
