Google is shutting down its Nest app’s access for Wear OS and Apple Watch. Nest app letting users take full control of thermostat while wearing it on their wrist. If you are using this app on a respective wearable device, then you will no longer use it. The app will display “Nest is no longer supported on Wear OS” message.
Additionally, you will also be asked to uninstall this app from the respective Wearable device. The instruction section of the app will guide you more about it. Nest.com was acquired by Google to offer seamless integration on their Wear OS compatible wearable devices.
Now, the company has found that only a few numbers of users were using this app. The spokesperson has cleared all the doubts of the users and finally decided to shut down this app for both, Apple Watch and Android-powered Smartwatches.
The Spokesperson has further added that our team will focus more on delivering a more user-friendly interface of the app through Smartphones and Voice Integration. We will have full access to the app and can control it with voice commands.
Nest for Wear OS and Apple Watch lacks some advanced features. in fact, the app was not compatible to work with the latest Nest devices. This could also be one more reason behind its shut down.
If you have been using this app for quite some time, then you should not be worried about it at all. The interface and all the data of this app will be available for you to use on your Smartphone. There’s no change on the mobile app of this platform. You can still make use of this app and its features from your Smartphone through its mobile app.
People who are using Wear OS device can use Google Voice Assistant to take full control of the Nest Devices. Yes, the Voice Control will enable the existing users to use Nest Devices with Voice Commands which is a good thing. The same feature is not available for Apple’s SmartWatch. You can still install its official app from the Play Store.
