Leaks and rumours never stop when we talk about apple; A new rumour claims that Apple will unveil the iPhone 8 on September 17. An alleged official note sent to Apple staff mentions blackout dates from September 17 to November 4 and it is highly likely that the iPhone 8 keynote will be held between those dates.

Another rumour is that the company will launch three new models of iPhone instead of two. From last three years company is announcing two flagship phones every year one is regular and another one is ‘plus’ model with the bigger display, now reports suggest that company will also going to launch iPhone 8 this year, along with iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus.

There are many rumours building around apple’s 10 anniversary iPhone edition, one of the most persistent source of debate has been regarding the placement of the TouchID sensor in the iPhone 8. While some have claimed that Apple is going to embed the sensor underneath the display, others have been apprehensive about such a radical approach, stating that Apple is facing issues in ramping up yield rates of the new sensor.

Now, a new report in Economic Daily News (EDN), spotted by MacRumours, claims that Apple has overcome this particular hurdle and has found a way to successfully embed the TouchID sensor underneath the iPhone 8’s display. If the report turns out to be true, the iPhone 8 will come without a physical home button.

MacRumours also claims that in addition to fingerprint recognition, the iPhone 8 will also come with “invisible infrared image sensors to enhance the functionality of the high-pixel camera”. This will also aid augmented reality functions.

This ties in well with past rumors which claim that the iPhone 8’s rear camera will come with ‘3D sensing’ capabilities and new augmented reality features. Apple is also set to boost the quality of the telephoto lens in the iPhone 8, which was a little bit inferior to the wide angle lens on the iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple can also bring iris scanner and facial recognition feature in iPhone 8 MacRumours report also claims that the “iris/facial recognition could be used to augment Touch ID via a high pixel-density front-facing camera”.

The iPhone 8 is expected to sport an edge-to-edge TrueTone OLED display, a radical new bezel-less glass and metal design, wireless charging support, upgraded IP68 waterproofing, an updated 3D Touch module and a Smart Connector for wireless charging and other accessories such as VR headsets.
