Nicholas Cage Not Interested in Star Wars Universe; Sony Might Not Bring Him Back as Spider-Man Noir

Nicholas Cage is one of the most popular actors in the industry and has been a major influence to pop culture since his debut to the big screen. He was also one of the first actors to play a character from the Marvel comics, Ghost Rider and has been a part of various big movies such as National Treasure, Snake Eyes and more.

Nicholas Cage not interested in Star Wars Universe

His latest piece of work is The Old Way, that came out on January 6, 2023. He recently did an interview for the movie with Kevin Polowy, popularly known as DJ Kevlar. During the interview he made some intriguing statements about the Star Wars Franchise.

Polowy told Cage that the last time he spoke to Pedro Pascal, Pedro wanted to recruit Cage for the Star Wars universe. Polowy wished to know what Cage felt about that and if there have been any moves towards it.

To which Cage replied stating no, and he’s not really interested in it. He added saying he is a Trekkie (Star Trek fan) and the Enterprise is where he rolls. He grew up watching the Star Trek Movies and was an avid fan of William Shatner’s work.

To him science fiction is a really important genre as the setting can be anything you like, and you can express the way you want to, without anyone asking questions. According to him Star Trek really embraced that point. He concluded stating that he is not in the Star Wars family, he belongs to the Star Trek Family.

Nicholas Cage’s Spider-Man Noir might not return

On the topic of Nicholas Cage, it seems that he will not be returning as Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. In a recent interview with Screenrant, Nicholas Cage was asked what were the chances of him returning as Spider-Man Noir in the next film. To which he replied stating that they’d have to ask Sony for that answer.

He added, that he does not know what is going on and no one has spoken to him about the topic. He wishes they would bring him back as he loves the character too. He thinks it is a great character as Spider-Man is the “coolest superhero”, combined with “Cagney and Bogart and Edward G. Robinson” makes him even cooler.
