Nick Kyrgios Thanasi Kokkinakis doubles win, chair umpire gym question

Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios kept up his usual cheekiness on the court by asking the chair umpire to weigh in on a crucial gym question.

Kyrgios hit the court today alongside close mate Thanasi Kokkinakis in an all-Australian doubles showdown.

The pair, who played doubles together at last year’s Australian Open, defeated countrymen Alex Bolt and James McCabe in straight sets, 6-4 6-2.

Prior to the coin flip for that match, Kyrgios’ on-court humour was on full display when he queried chair umpire Alison Hughes on who could bicep curl the most at the gym.

Umpire: Any questions gentlemen?

Kyrgios: Who do you reckon does bigger curls out of us?

Umpire: I’m not going to get into that.

While the umpire was clearly amused and smiling, Kyrgios finished off the debate with a cheeky flex and “Siu” chant.

This year’s Australian Open has notably featured many fans chanting “Siu”, especially during Kyrgios’ win last night over Britain’s Liam Broady. The chant is an imitation of Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic celebration that has gone viral in recent years.
