HMD Global had launched latest mid-range Android One smartphone – the Nokia 7.1 as a successor to last year’s Nokia 7, at an event held yesterday in London. The main highlights of the Nokia 7.1 include 19:9 PureDisplay with a notch up top, dual rear cameras sporting ZEISS optics, and glass sandwich-style body with diamond cut anodized 6000 series aluminum frame.
Nokia 7.1 Price and Availability
The Nokia 7.1 comes with the price range of EUR 299 (Rs. 24,400 approx.) to EUR 349 (Rs. 29,500 approx.), depending on the region. It will be up for pre-order in Europe starting from today, October 5th and will be made available in the global market starting October this year. The Nokia 7.1 comes in Gloss Midnight Blue and Gloss Steel colour options.

The Nokia 7.1 runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and slated an upgrade to Android 9.0 Pie next month. It sports a 5.84” full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) 19:9 PureDisplay panel with HDR10 support, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. The smartphone is powered by 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 509 GPU. It offers 3GB LPPDDR4x RAM with 32GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage and 4GB LPPDDR4x RAM with 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. The internal storage can be further expanded up to 400GB via microSD card.
For photography, the Nokia 7.1 comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 12MP primary autofocus sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 5MP secondary fixed-focus sensor with f/2.4 aperture to capture depth information for portrait shots. The rear cameras boast Zeiss optics, EIS and dual LED flash support. On the front, it has an 8MP AI enhanced selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree field-of-view. The front camera also equipped with AI-based facial recognition technology to unlock the device.
The Nokia 7.1 is fuelled by a 3060mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, it can the phone from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, NFC, 3.5 mm headphone jack, FM Radio, and Type-C 2.0 port. Sensors onboard the smartphone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back. The phone measures 149.7×71.19×7.99mm and weigh 159 grams.
