After being long rumored HMD was launched its first Android Flagship smartphone the ‘Nokia 8’ back in August this year. The Nokia 8 currently has only one official variant – featuring 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space. Now as per the reports, Company is all set to bring the Nokia 8 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage variant.
The Nokia 8 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant was recently spotted in documents of the US FCC (the US Federal Communication Commission). Reports also suggest that the company has confirmed the variant will be made available in Germany, next month on October 20 only in Polished Blue color option.
There is no official information on exactly when the flagship will be launching other key markets around the world, including the US, where even the standard Nokia 8 isn’t available yet.
Meanwhile, HMD Global has sent out invites for the launch of Nokia 8 in India on September 26. The device will be launched at an event to be held on September 26 in New Delhi in India.
Nokia 8 Specifications
To recall, The Nokia 8 features 6000-series aluminium uni-body design and fitted with an elaborate heat management solution with copper pipe that runs from the upper right corner of the device to the lower left has liquid evaporating in the middle, and condensing on the edges. A graphite shield enables heat transfer to the aluminium unibody and its eventual dissipation to the air. The Nokia 8 also comes with IP54 certification, which means it is splash-proof.
Coming on specification, The Nokia 8 runs on stock Android 7.1.1 Android Nougat operating system, company promises to provide the latest updates to its users without any delay. From recent leaks, it is expected to get Android Oreo update soon. It sports a 5.3” 2K (2560×1440 pixels) LCD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone is powered by up to 2.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC which is powering nearly all Android flagship smartphones. It offers 4GB of LPPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of internal storage, as per above mentioned reports there will be another 6GB/128GB variant. The storage is further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
The Nokia 8 comes with dual 13MP ZEISS sensors on the back including RGB and monochrome; camera features include f/2.0, 76.9˚, PDAF and IR range finder and dual-tone LED flash, it also features one of a kind “bothies” feature – the ability to capture images and videos from front and rear cameras at the same time and let you live-stream in full-HD over social media platforms. On the front, there is a 13MP PDAF, 1.12um, f/2.0 selfie camera. Both front and rare cameras are capable of recording 4K videos.
The Nokia 8 is fueled by a 3,090 mAh battery and offers all the standard connectivity options including dual-SIM support, 4G, wi-fi, 3.5mm headphone jack (3-mics) and USB 3.1 Type-C among others.
