Brisbane has released utility back Jamayne Isaako immediately so he can join Gold Coast for the remainder of 2022.

The Titans announced the Isaako signing just hours after it had been widely reported he was set to join Parramatta.

The Eels had been chasing Isaako’s short-term signing only recently, but the Broncos had refused to release him while fullback Tesi Niu was injured.

Several outlets reported this morning that Isaako was poised to join the Eels and be available this week.

But the Titans sprung a surprise by announcing his signing, and he is a chance to be named in their team at 4pm this afternoon.

Nine’s Ben Dobbin spoke to Triple M before the Titans news was announced.

“Isaako… asked for a release and it was granted this morning,” Dobbin said.

“A handy fullback, a handy winger, and a great goal-kicker, he’s a great acquisition for the remainder of 2022.”

Isaako has signed with the NRL’s newest club, the Dolphins, from season 2023.

“We had kept a spot on our roster open and we’re thrilled that we are now able to add Jamayne to our team,” Titans coach Justin Holbrook said.

“With a number of talented young backline players on our roster, Jamayne will no doubt be able to help with their development during his time with the Titans.”
