OnePlus 5 starts receiving OxygenOS 4.5.15 update which includes multiple bug fixes along with the Android security patch for the month of October. Sadly it’s not the Android Oreo update which its users have eagerly been waiting for.
The update brings Android security patch for October along with general bug fixes, GPS improvements and more. The OnePlus 5 is currently two months behind schedule on the monthly security patch updates from Google.
Apart from the GPS improvements and security patch, the update also fixes issues like setting customised alarm ringtone, sharing emoji from Bitmoji and a few other minor bug fixes. The update, available as OTA download, has a file size of 74MB and is being rolled out ‘incrementally’, which means the update will reach a small percentage of users at first, and then a broader rollout in few days.
Last month, the OnePlus 5 received its first Android 8.0 Oreo based Open Beta build. Whereas OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T have already received the Android Oreo so we can expect the OnePlus 5 and 5T to receive it soon.
Meanwhile, OnePlus 5T has also received an OxygenOS 4.7.4 OTA update. The update includes system-level improvements, including few camera improvements, optimisations for audio from speakers and earphones, optimisations for face unlock and vibration, WiFi battery optimisation, improved stability of fingerprint and GPS, general bug fixes and system stability improvements.
