0

OnePlus is reportedly gearing up to launch its next-generation of a smartphone, the OnePlus 6 soon. The company has already officially confirmed quite a few things about the device like the presence of the notch, and a way to hide the notch.  Today OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will feature navigation gestures, though regular on-screen buttons will be available as well.

This confirmation came in form of a video clip which was published on company’s official Twitter handle. The Tweeted, “Speed up your experience with gestures. #OnePlus6”, the video teased a swipe up feature for returning to the home screen. However, it does not reveal the exact functions of the various gestures.

The second tweet said, “Slide to focus with the Alert Slider. #OnePlus6, this video is teased the well known alert slider, present in some of the company’s recent flagships. The alert Slider has been reserved for controlling Sound Settings, Do Not Disturb Mode, and Silence depending on the position of the slider. As per the video, the slider can aslo be used to adjust and control the camera focus.

To recall, the navigation gestures have been first introduced for OnePlus 5T beta users.  However, these are still in beta and haven’t been rolled out to all the users yet through the stable OxygenOS build. It is expected that the navigation gestures on the OnePlus 6 will be similar to the ones on the 5T.

The OnePlus 6 will offer four main gestures. Swiping up from the bottom in order to return to the home screen, swiping towards the left to access the back function and swipe from left to right to access the notifications. The swipe-up-and-hold gesture will allow users to see the multitasking menu.

Based on the previous reports, the OnePlus 6 will have an edge-to-edge FullView display with an iPhone X-like notch on top. It will have an option to hide the notch via software. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB and 256GB of internal storage.

The regular updates from the company suggest that the OnePlus 6 will launch sooner than expected. It is expected to launch before the end of this month, we might see more leaks in the coming weeks. Stay tuned with us for more details.
