Oppo has launched a new mid-range smartphone in China called the Oppo A83. The smartphone comes with the price tag of 1399 Yuan ($214 / Rs. 13,700 approx) and will be available to purchase from December 29 while the registration of the device has already begun. It will be made available in Champagne Gold and Black color options.
Talking about specifications, the Oppo A83 runs on Color OS 3.2-based on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and sports a 5.7” HD+ (720×1440 pixels) LCD FullView with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by 2.5GHz octa-core processor, while the company did not mention the name of the processor but previous rumors have suggested that the MediaTek Helio P23 is present under its hood. It offers 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
For photography, the Oppo A83 comes with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash. On the front, there is an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The camera also equipped with a new facial recognition technology, it can unlock the phone within 0.18 seconds using 128 unique feature points on the user’s face.
The Oppo A83 is fueled by a 3090mAh battery. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4GVoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 /b/g/n, GPS, Micro-USB, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include accelerometer, proximity sensor, and compass. It measures 150.5×73.1×7.7mm and weight is 143 grams.
