After bunch of leaks and teases, Oppo on Thursday has finally announced its selfie-centric OPPO F5 smartphone in Philippines. The smartphne comes with the price tag of PHP 15,990 (Rs. 19,999 approx.) Pre-booking of the device will start from October 27 while shipping begins from November 4 in Gold, Black, and Red color options. The company already announced the OPPO F5 to launch in India on November 2nd.
The selfie-centric Oppo F5 is the successor to the popular OPPO F3 which launched in the first half of this year. Unlike its predecessor, the new OPPO F5 sports a single 20MP front-facing camera with AI beauty recognition technology. As seen in many teasers, it sports an 18:9 edge-to-edge display with minimal bezels on all the four sides and the fingerprint sensor is now placed on the back side of the smartphone. The Oppo F5 also comes with a facial recognition unlock feature as an alternative to the fingerprint scanner.
Talking about specifications, the Oppo F5 runs on ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and sports 6” Full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) 18:9 full-screen display. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6763T SoC. It offers 4GB/6GB of RAM with 32GB/64GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
For photography, the Oppo F5 comes equipped with a 16MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture along with LED flash support. On the front there is 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, it comes with AI beauty recognition technology that scans 200 facial recognition spots to beautify a selfie shot perfectly and also offers bokeh effect. The smartphone is fueled by a 3,200mAh non-removable battery. connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS.
