Oppo may introduce a new Find X5 version with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset

Oppo released the Find X5 Pro smartphone earlier this year globally which came powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. However, the Chinese phone maker unveiled the same device for the domestic market with the Dimensity 9000 mobile platform. According to a report by GSMArena, Oppo is working on a new version of the Find X5 smartphone that is expected to come powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform. The report has not shared any specific details about the upcoming version of the Find X5 handset but it may have the same features as the original device. Moreover, the series might not get a new Pro variant “where the switch would be far simpler,” the report suggests.
The report also mentions that the new ColorOS 13 is incoming as well as Oppo Watch 3 and Band 2. Apart from that, a new foldable codenamed Dragonfly is also set to release soon as the Oppo Find N2 handset.
Oppo Find X5 (original version) specifications
The original Oppo Find X5 sports a 6.55-inch AMOLED display that supports FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 402 PPI Pixel density and 1000 nits peak brightness. The smartphone is powered by the MariSilicon X Imaging NPU and Snapdragon 888 CPU paired with Adreno 660 GPU, 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
The smartphone houses a triple rear camera setup that includes — a 50MP primary camera with OIS support, a 50MP ultra-wide angle sensor and a 13MP telephoto lens. For selfies and video calls, the device has a 32MP front shooter. Oppo Find X5 packs a 4800mAh battery unit that offers 80W wired fast charging, 30W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. The handset runs on ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12.
