Piers Morgan, 56, is currently in the US with his son Albert Morgan, and has kept his social media followers updated on every step of his trip. Yesterday, the former Good Morning Britain presenter took to Twitter to share a picture of his chance encounter with Hollywood star Jim Carrey, 60.

Piers posted on Twitter a photo collage including a picture he took of his son with Jim Carrey on a golf cart at the Super Bowl.

In the second picture you can see Jim pointing at Piers, as he realised who it was taking a picture of him.

In the third you can see the three smiling for a selfie, as they all enjoy the Super Bowl event.

He captioned the picture in view of his 7.9 million followers: “When you come out of the Super Bowl, spot @JimCarrey on a golf cart, take a pic of your son (big fan) running backwards alongside him, and Jim clocks you & shouts ‘Wait…. PIERS MORGAN????!!

“‘Man, I’m sorry we’ve been so hard on you….hahaha.’

“Only in Hollywood, baby.”

Many social media users took to the comments to say their view on Piers’ new friend and their chance encounter.

Victor63649759 said: “Should’ve asked him to lend that mask mate, just think of the misachievement you could get up to.” (sic)

Jacqui1961 added: “Brilliant and unforgettable. The smiles say it all.”

While on CNN he had built a reputation for campaigns on gun control and was blamed for the slide in ratings since Larry’s retirement.

In 2014 Piers told The New York Times: “It’s been a painful period and lately we have taken a bath in the ratings.

“Look, I am a British guy debating American cultural issues, including guns, which has been very polarizing, and there is no doubt that there are many in the audience who are tired of me banging on about it. (sic)

“That’s run its course and Jeff and I have been talking for some time about different ways of using me.”

Piers got a gig back in England, presenting on Good Morning Britain from 2015 till 2021 when he quit after making comments about Meghan Markle.

In September 2021, it was announced that Piers would be joining News Crop as a presenter on their new television channel talkTV.

It was also announced that he would be a columnist for The Sun and New York Post.

The talk show will air in the US, US and Australia and is scheduled to launch early this year.
