Port Adelaide stars Tom Jonas, Ollie Wines slam Adelaide Crows ahead of Showdown

The verbal sparring between Adelaide and Port Adelaide has continued ahead of this weekend’s Showdown, with Port skipper Tom Jonas labelling the Crows “entitled” and “arrogant”.

Despite both teams being out of finals contention, the match-up between the two South Australian sides is shaping up to be as spicy as ever.

After Port Adelaide great Chad Cornes said he hated the cross-town rivals, Port’s skipper took it a step further.

“There’s some good people within the club, but as an organisation they’re entitled and arrogant,” Jonas told 9News Adelaide.

“When you come into Port Adelaide you learn from people like Chad Cornes about the history and the culture and what it means to this club. That’s why there’s such a fierce rivalry between us and the Crows.”

Jonas was far from the only player to take a jab at the Crows, with reigning Brownlow Medal winner Ollie Wines also offering his two cents.

“There’s certain things about that football club that I don’t like,” Wines told Seven.

“It’s just the DNA of the club and what they’re about, and the sense of entitlement they have.

“I’m proud of my football club and we’re going to be doing everything we can to knock them off.”

This weekend’s Showdown will be the second of the season, with Adelaide winning the first clash courtesy of Jordan Dawson’s post-siren goal.
