PS5 accessories: Best controller prices and extras YOU need after buying console stock | Gaming | Entertainment

0

The PS5 has been out for over a year now, and thankfully the PlayStation 5 is easier these days to pick up then when it first launched. While restocks can still sell out fast, the recent GAME drop where PS5 consoles were available to buy for over a week is hopefully a sign the situation is improving as 2022 kicks off. Especially considering PS5 restocks in the past have been known to sell out in a matter of minutes.

If you’re lucky enough to own a PS5 right now, then you may be looking around for extra accessories to buy – such as additional controllers or a way to get more storage on your PlayStation 5 console.

Thankfully, if you’re struggling to find which accessory is right for you then Express.co.uk is here to help. We have details on options you need to consider as well as some of the best prices on the market.

PS5 accessories – best controllers

The PS5 DualSense controller is one of the most exciting things about the PlayStation 5.

The latest joypad from Sony is packed full of revolutionary features such as haptic feedback (which is a generational leap for rumble tech) as well as adaptive triggers, which changes the tension in the triggers to replicate the feeling of things such as recoil in a gun and the tension need to pull a bow and arrow.

Since the PS5 first launched Sony has been slowly adding to the DualSense range with the release of different colours. The latest PS5 controller colours are nova pink, starlight blue and galactic purple.

These PS5 controllers are priced at £64.99 and launched in January.

This trio of new colour schemes joins the cosmic red, midnight black and standard white models that are also available.

If you’re not fussed about the colours, and would rather just save as much money as possible, then you will want to pick up a white or black controller.

At 365Games you can get the white DualSense for £52.95, while the black DualSense is £55.99. The white and black DualSense controllers have an RRP of £59.99.

Besides new DualSense colours, Sony in 2022 is also launching a range of PlayStation console covers that change the look of your PS5.

The standard white plates the console comes with can easily be removed and replaced with covers that match the different DualSense colours.

So you’ll be able to get midnight black, cosmic red, nova pink, starlight blue and galactic purple covers.

The midnight black and cosmic red covers were the first to launch in January 2022 for regions including the UK and are available to buy right now with PlayStation Direct. The remaining covers are launching in the first half of 2022.

PS5 accessories – best headset

There are plenty of headsets you can choose from for your PS5, from leading third-party names such as Razer, SteelSeries and Logitech.

But you may want to go for Sony’s very own Pulse 3D Headset. As the name suggests, this first-party headset deliver 3D Audio which is made possible by the PS5’s Tempest tech.

Describing what this sounds like, Sony says the Pulse 3D headset will “put you at the centre of incredibly immersive soundscapes where it feels as if the sound comes from every direction”.

The Pulse 3D headset is priced at £89.99 and is available in white or midnight black. But if you shop around you can get it cheaper – 365games at the time of writing is running a money saving deal on the headset.

PS5 accessories – best storage

The PS5 comes with an 825GB SSD installed as standard, but once you factor in the essential system files that are installed on the console you’ll instead have 667.2GB of usable storage.

Thankfully though, Sony gives you the option of buying an additional internal SSD that you can fit to your PS5.

Given the blazingly fast speeds Sony needs to deliver next-generation experiences on the PS5, there are only specific hard-drives you can use.

Sony details what SSDs work with the PS5, and how to install an M.2 drive in this article.

But if this still leaves you befuddled then when one of the best options you can choose is the WD_BLACK SN850.

This NVMe SSD is compatible with the PS5, and the 1TB version with a heatsink usually costs £257.99.

But right now you can get this SSD from Amazon for £148.99 – a whopping £109 saving.
