Gaming giant Tencent Games has pulled back its blockbuster PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in Chine after being failed to win approval from the Chinese authorities to monetize the game. However, in the replacement of PUBG, Tencent Games has launched a patriotic game called ‘Game for Peace’ in China.

Tencent has made its all possible attempts to get approval from the authorities to monetize the game, however, every time they lose in their attempt. At the end of 2017, the authorities declined the approval for the last time marking it as the game was too violent for the players. In response to that, the publishers agreed to make localized changes to provide “healthy, positive cultural and value guidance” for Chinese players. Even after that, they didn’t get the approval to earn money on PUBG via in-app purchases.

And at last, the company decided to shut down the game and finally made a decision to replace this game with a patriotic game called the ‘Game for Peace’ which got the monetization approval in April. The ‘Game for Peace’ is almost identical to PUBG but with different gameplay. The theme of this game is basically on centering on the celebration of the Chinese air force.

According to a report from Reuters, a Weibo user said, “When you shoot people, they don’t bleed, and the dead get up and wave goodbye!” However, it will be interesting to how this game will be laid its foundation in China. Will it really gain the same fame as that of PUBG? It will be a great question mark for that. However, from the company end, at least they will get some revenue from the game instead of NULL.
