Ranbir Kapoor announces the new release date of Toolsidas Junior with a game of snooker
Ashutosh Gowariker’s AGPPL and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series have announced the release date of Rajiv Kapoor’s last film, Toolsidas Junior. The makers announced the new release date with a special video featuring Rajiv Kapoor’s nephew Ranbir Kapoor and Toolsidas Junior lead actor Varun Buddhadev playing snooker, with Ranbir ending the video with the film’s tagline — Baccha Hai, Phaad Dega!
Toolsidas Junior, which releases on May 23, is the final film of veteran actor Rajiv Kapoor. It highlights the bond between a father and son against the backdrop of snooker.
Rajiv Kapoor died of a cardiac arrest on February 9, last year. To commemorate a year since his tragic death, the makers of Toolsidas Junior hosted a special screening for the Kapoor family, which included Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, Aadar Jain, Armaan Jain, Rima Jain, and Kunal Kapoor along with producers Ashutosh and Sunita Gowariker, Bhushan Kumar, and director Mridul.
Toolsidas Junior is Ashutosh Gowariker and Bhushan Kumar’s first joint production. The sports drama, set in Calcutta in 1994, follows the life of a snooker champion, played by Rajiv Kapoor, who loses interest in the game after losing a crucial match. His son, played by Buddhadev, takes it upon himself to restore his father’s name to the list of winners.
