Rice’s Chelsea hero he speaks to ‘all the time’ is a blow for Man Utd | Football | Sport

The Red Devils failed to sign a single player in the January transfer window as their priority evidently remains addressing the club’s managerial situation, but that will have changed come the summer.

It is believed it will take a fee in the region of £100million to prise Rice away from west London, though the player’s closeness to Terry and his comments on his love of London will perhaps provide more pressing concerns.

Walking through the streets of Kingston-upon-Thames in south-west London, where Rice was born and raised, Neville asked if the West Ham man still lived in the area.

“I’m here all the time,” he admitted. “I’ve always wanted to stay close to this place, I feel like I don’t want to lose my roots.”

It remains to be seen where Rice’s future lies, but both his past and present remain heavily linked to London and Chelsea in particular.
