Just after introducing Google Assitant last fall, Roku is all set to integrate Amazon Alexa in its devices. Previously, Roku’s devices support Google Assistant and the company’s own Voice Assistant, but for the one who loves prefer Alexa above these two, Roku has now integrated Alexa in its Voice Assistant list. Now, the company’s TV and other streaming devices will be compatible with Amazon Alexa. You just need to have an Alexa-powered device like the Echo dot to control Roku’s devices.
You can control different functions of these devices including turning them on/off, adjusting their volumes, play/pause contents, launching apps on TV and many many just by your voice using suffix “Alexa” then your command. The company says that there will be no difference in the functionality of Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Both of these will work in a similar way.
To use Alexa on your Roku device, you just need to make sure that your device is running on OS 8.1 or greater and the second thing, of course, you need to have an Alexa-powered device. If you fulfill these minimum requirements, then what are you waiting for, just open your Alexa app, select TV & Video under settings and enable the skill to link your accounts. Now, you can control your Roku device with Alexa.
