Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, has made a ton in his first-class debut.

Following in the footsteps of his famous father, Arjun reached his century from 177 balls at the Goa Cricket Association Academy ground, whilst playing for Goa on the second day of the four-day match against Rajasthan in India’s domestic championship, the Ranji Trophy.

Coincidently, Sachin also reached triple figures in his Ranji Trophy debut 34 years ago this month.

Coming in to bat at number seven, the left-hander – who normally stars as a fast bowler – hit 16 fours and two sixes in his 207-ball knock. He was later dismissed for 120.

Arjun was selected for India’s under-19 team in 2018 before a stint in the Indian Premier League with the Mumbai Indians. However, he failed to make it off the bench.

The 23-year-old moved from Mumbai to Goa this season.
