Lift water rings from wooden surfaces
Water rings can be an unsightly by-product of drinking liquids on wooden surfaces.
You should rub a few drops of vegetable oil with a pinch of salt onto white water stains and then use a dry cloth or your fingers to rub this into a thin paste on the wood.
Next, allow this mixture to sit on the stain for 10 minutes before taking a clean, dry cloth and wiping it off.
Prevent red wine from staining fabric
Spilt wine can be a real nuisance, but you can absorb red or white wine and prevent it from staining it using salt.
Dab the stain with a paper towel to absorb the spilt wine and then quickly pour club soda onto the tablecloth or carpet.
Sprinkle salt over the wet material and make sure to use a lot of salt.
The salt will work to bring up the stain.
Wipe off the excess salt after a few minutes and then wash the tablecloth according to the care settings on its label or vacuum the carpet.
